Subsidy for New Windows in the Netherlands: How Does It Work?

Subsidy for New Windows in the Netherlands: How Does It Work?

The Dutch government offers subsidies for certain energy-saving measures, including high-efficiency glazing such as HR++ and Triple glass. The exact amount depends on the type of glazing, the number of square metres and the conditions of the subsidy scheme.

At Nordik Huis, we can help you understand whether your new windows may qualify for a subsidy and provide you with the information you need for your application.

How much subsidy can you receive?

For 2026, qualifying Triple glass with a U-value of 0.7 W/m²K or lower can receive a subsidy starting from €111 per m² when it is the only insulation measure being claimed.

If you combine glazing with another eligible insulation measure, the amount can increase to €222 per m² for qualifying Triple glass.

For example:

10 m² of qualifying Triple glass × €111 = €1,110 subsidy.

The final amount depends on your specific situation and whether you meet all RVO requirements.

Important: These amounts are indicative. The subsidy is subject to the official conditions of the scheme and the specific product/meldcode used for your installation.

What type of windows qualify?

The ISDE scheme includes several types of insulation measures, including HR++ glass, Triple glass, insulating panels and insulating doors.

For Triple glass, there is an additional important requirement: the window frames must also be replaced to qualify for the subsidy.

This is why it is important to choose the right window system and glazing before starting the project.

How do you apply for the subsidy?

The application is submitted directly through RVO, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

The process generally includes:

1. Check whether your project qualifies
Before starting, check the current requirements for your home and the selected measure.

2. Choose the correct windows and glazing
The product must meet the technical requirements of the subsidy scheme.

3. Check the meldcode
Eligible high-efficiency glazing is listed by RVO with an official meldcode. This code is used when submitting the application.

4. Keep the required documentation
It is important to keep your quotation, invoice, payment information and photographs of the work. RVO specifically recommends taking photographs of the work as part of preparing the application.

5. Submit the application through RVO
The application is made online using DigiD.
